Writing with Light: Using BriteLink Projectors in the Classroom
There are currently seven classrooms on the Simpson campus equipped with Epson BriteLink projectors that enable the user to write on the board using light as the medium. This technology is more than a simple replacement for chalk; it also allows the user to annotate any projected image, regardless of the program used to generate that image (Powerpoint, web browser, MS Word, etc.). In this session, John Benoit and Manda Gibson will review the many beneficial features of BriteLink technology and demonstrate how it may be used to annotate text, graphs, photographs, maps, spreadsheets, and video. Participants will also learn how to capture annotated screen images as jpeg or pdf files which can be saved and shared. The latter portion of the session will be devoted to brain-storming how the technology might be used in your classes as well as to experimenting with the technology.
Faculty Development is again offering a series of workshops during Iowa Private College Week. The sessions are offered so they will not conflict with times faculty meet with prospective students. All faculty – full-time, part-time, and brand new – are invited to attend. Please RSVP to email@example.com.
