Debra Czarneski is a professor of Mathematics at Simpson College, the Director of Undergraduate Research, and the most recent recipient of the college's Exemplary Teaching Award. Her Watson Lecture title is "Undergraduate Research: Radio Frequencies, Parties, and Roads." This event is part of the First Wednesday series of campus-wide convocations.
Deb presented a clear summary of the undergraduate summer research projects she has mentored and how this experience has helped her students to grow. She encouraged the campus community to embrace the advantages for students, faculty and the College that a vibrant summer undergraduate research program can provide. She shared with us her vision for how we can take the next step in this process at Simpson College.
