George Washington Carver Medal Ceremony

Dr. Brian Johnson, Tuskegee University President, will receive 2017 George Washington Carver Medal.

The Carver Medal is given to an individual who has distinguished themselves through service. The medal, as well as the lecture series, pays tribute to Dr. Carver’s legacy at Simpson and the College’s commitment to diversity throughout its history.

George Washington Carver’s outstanding gifts were recognized at Simpson College where he first attended as a student in 1890. Since 1974, Simpson College has commemorated the legacy of George Washington Carver in a lecture series. Starting in 2008, the College presented the first Annual George Washington Carver Medal at a campus ceremony and symposium.

Event is free and open to the public.
