You will meet Simpson professors and students and explore the exciting events occurring in and out of the STEM departments. Event Schedule:
Saturday, November 18
9:00 – 10 a.m. Campus tour (optional) – Meet in the Carver Science Building to start the tour at 8:45 a.m.
10 – 10:15 a.m. Check-in and Continental Breakfast - Carver Science Building
-Find your name tag, pick up your lunch ticket(s), and Experience STEM tickets while enjoying complementary light refreshments.
10:15 – 10:30 a.m. Welcome and Overview of STEM majors at Simpson – Jordan Lecture Hall
-Faculty will introduce the fields of STEM study at Simpson College.
10:40 – 11 a.m. Experience STEM with us! (Session A) – Laboratories and Classrooms
11:05 – 11:25 a.m. Experience STEM with us! (Session B) – Laboratories and Classrooms
-Choose one of several interactive demonstrations led by STEM faculty and students. These sessions will give you an opportunity to try your hand at science.
11:30 – 11:55 a.m. STEM Careers Panel Discussion – Jordan Lecture Hall
Current STEM students and alumni
During this question and answer session, learn more about STEM careers and how studying in STEM can give you a competitive edge in applying for jobs and graduate schools.
11:55 - 12:15 p.m. Admissions and Financial Assistance Information
12:15 p.m. Meal with STEM-Mentors - Simpson College Dining Hall (complimentary)
