About this Event
Integrating teaching and undergraduate research at colleges has been informed by a growing demand for problem-solvers with skills to promote inquiry. The number of research-based lab courses has increased over the past two decades. Traditional lab classes rarely give students an accurate representation of how research is conducted, the scientific practices involved in research, and ownership associated with developing and carrying out an independent project.
In this session, Dr. Aswati Subramanian (accompanied by her undergraduate researcher-Ethan Madden, will share strategies and structures that she has used in her research-based lab, that you can implement in your own classrooms to enhance the links between novel research questions and teaching activities.
NOTE: This session will be offered by Zoom only
