Transparent Assignments: Writing Down the Unwritten Rules
In this session, participants will begin the process of revising one of their own assignments to make it more transparent. Transparent assignments provide students with details about the hows and whys of their assignments. Sal Meyers will also describe research showing that having instructors make just two of their assignments more transparent led to an increase in students’ academic confidence, their sense of belonging, and student retention. Although these benefits were realized for all students, historically underserved students particularly benefited.
Please RSVP to Jodi Eubank at firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, July 29 to let her know that you will be attending.
