Join Simpson College and the Indianola community for the three-day George Washington Carver Day Celebration. There are a number of events, including the 2024 George Washington Carver Symposium: Innovations in Food Production, taking place from 10-11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 2. The symposium will be moderated by journalist Dave Price, Iowa Political Director for Gray Television and Editor of American Farmland Owner, and will feature the following panelists:

• Dr. George Annor, General Mills Endowed Professor in Cereal Chemistry and Technology, University of Minnesota
• Dr. Rosalind James, Mid-West Area Director, USDA Agricultural Research Service, Peoria, Illinois
• Dr. Gebisa Ejeta, 2009 World Food Prize Laureate, Executive Director, Purdue University Center for Global Food Security
