The Simpson College Community Orchestra, under the baton of Dr. Mike Eckerty, will perform the works of William Walton, Alexander Glazunov, Edward Elgar, and Hector Berlioz during its spring concert. Following the hour-long performance, there will be a reception at which members of the audience may visit with the orchestra musicians. The concert and the reception are free, open to the public, and family-friendly.
A highlight of the performance will be Berlioz's Roman Carnival Overture, a virtuosic, fiery composition that includes tender moments featuring the English horn and the viola section.
